Don’t lose your files; keep your system backed up

We preach this point all the time and it still amazes us how many people don’t have a backup for their computer system. I always tell people, “I have never heard anyone be upset that they’ve had a backup, but I’ve definitely heard them be upset when they haven’t.”

A backup is a nice way to make sure that you keep all your important files in case your computer crashes, gets stolen, resets, etc. With a backup, you never have to worry if you have computer problems. If something happens you know that you have a copy of your files in case you need to get a new computer.

How much storage space you are using determines the type of backup drive you should get. In most cases, getting an external hard drive is the way to go. This option provides the most space in case you really fill your backup. There are many programs out there that can provide backup services, but we find that the built-in Windows 10 backup does just fine and grabs all the important files you have in your user folder.
