The next time you walk into our department you may see computers that don’t have a name brand on them or have extra fan lights on the front. That’s because starting now, iCitizen is building custom PCs.
What does this mean?
It means we get parts to put together a desktop computer in our shop and sell it to you at a cheaper price than some name brand computers.
Why are we doing this?
The primary reason is prices for PCs we get from name brand companies (Dell, HP, etc.) are just a little too high in price at the moment for us to buy and that makes it more expensive for you. Meanwhile, we can get all the individual parts and put the computer together ourselves and save you a few extra dollars in the process.
What is the advantage of a custom-built PC?
The advantage of building computers — other than selling them cheaper to you — is we can make a computer that fits your exact needs. We will build the computers with certain configurations to have on display, but if you have something specific you know you want in your computer, such as more RAM, larger hard drive, etc., we can add those to any of our systems and you will get the computer that fits your needs.
This does not mean we will stop selling Dell or other name brand machines, but we just need to wait for their prices to come down so we can get them back in stock. We are always on the lookout for good deals with Dell and will try to get them back in as soon as we can. However, our custom-built machines will run just as well as the name brand machines, or even better.
