No tips in the column this week, but there are a couple of notices that we want to give everyone.
First, there is a new Windows update rolling out that, when applied to the system, is removing printers from the machine. We do not know which update it is, but we’ve had multiple calls from people not being able to print after an update, and we found that their printers were not installed. We don’t know if this update will remove printers from every machine it’s applied to, or if you will even get the update anytime soon. However, be aware that any new Windows update could have this effect on your machine.
Another quick note is that recently we have been seeing that our iCitizen Quick Support program is being flagged as dangerous by different anti-viruses, mainly Webroot. Webroot updated its virus database and our Quick Support program must meet its criteria as dangerous/malicious. So far, we’ve only seen Webroot try to remove our Quick Support program when it’s opened on the computer. This isn’t an issue that will affect you until the Quick Support program needs to be opened for our assistance. This is an issue that we can fix for you the next time you need remote support.
